The results are finally in. Read them and weep.

First, let's get the great list of disqualified people out of the way. Rest in peace, you poor souls.

48136 - i miss micah (CJA)
57005 - Team Cherry Cotton (funkbrat)
58509 - Team Omega-3 Fatty Acids (Pyro1588, Commodorejohn, The Pope)
59158 - TEAM POOP ROAD >:( (micah, cja, nahah)
73803 - Two Men Whose Feet Are in Coffins (Fungahhh, burstroc)
96276 - Artificial Spank (TraumaFox)
caponi and trex - who the hell knows.

And now, the people who actually placed somewhere!

Coming up the rear with 8th place is TEAM SUF 4!! (Old-Sckool) and his game with the cliche title of "Hero's Quest". [475/1600]

Actually placing this time - at 7th - is TEAM LEDAH (Goshi3156) with his flonk of an entry on organized crime. [531/1600]

Team Dessert (Torte) submitted the only untitled entry to avoid disqualification. This one placed 6th. [597/1600]

Jumping on the voiceacting bandwagon, we have Team MZXian funDEMENTelists (Xeirxes, KKairos) and their nausea-inducing "cyber-mafia", which stole 5th place from under our noses. [834/1600]

Oh No, Its A Vigilante! The underdogs in Crustaceous (Malik_Gynax, Celedor) reign supreme over the poor people who didn't get in the top 3 this time, coming in at #4. [866/1600]

And now, for the people who DID get in the top 3!

KirbySSB and Edge did, indeed, score Better Than 6th This Time, with their entry "Fallen Angels" hitting #3 and claiming the bronze. Are they going to enter as "Better Than 2nd This Time" next DoZ? They might be in for a disappointment... [996/1600]

Sadly, Revgromo and the Dancing Brambles (Revvy, asgromo, Bramble) were only ten points away from winning this DoZ with "Pacone's Grand Day Out", and have to settle for #2 and an ugly silver trophy instead. Better luck next time. [1110/1600]

The 27th (Quasar), on the other hand, scores his second straight #1 victory in a bad DoZ and takes home the gold with V-Complex. Congratulations sir. [1120/1600]

And so ends the biggest disaster since ler's MZXO. I'm pretty disappointed in a lot of people involved, including myself for putting the competition on such a crappy date. But I expect Exo to have much better luck with the Summer DoZ!

If anybody has issues about how their game scored poorly from my judging, you may feel free to take it out on me in this thread. Go on. I deserve it.
Blaugh!
Serious damage to important body parts pretty much ruins any plans you had for living. Bummer.

wildweasel, it's okay.

Heh, it's funny my team's game got second. Kind of pitiful, really. All the same, first DoZ, second place--sounds good to me.

Are you saying there is an equal number of disqualified games versus qualified ones?

also I made Trex and Madbrain made Caponi

Quasar's entry was the only real game actually worth playing.

Also, I reconsidered about not competing in anymore DoZ's. I may compete in more, seeing as I have much time left in morning if I go ahead and sleep.

I actually found Pacone's Day Out more enjoyable than V - Complex actually, it was just too buggy to actually playable, thats all.

Well I'll probably continue doing DoZs anyway, afterall I did put no effort on the others anyway >_>

Damn... If Wild Weasle wasn't such a lousy judge, I would've beaten Goshi! >:( (I also kinda messed up my game patch, so it was deleted. It still sucks though)
<Nadir> mzxers don't make GAMES, usually
<phthalocyanine> they make experiences.
<Nadir> demos, more like
<Nadir> a glimpse into what could have been if mzx wasn't such a bore to work with
<Nadir> actually, i'm being unfair
<Nadir> i would have made mzx games if it was capable of running on more than 20 computers worldwide in 1998
<Nadir> >:D

<%Alice> functor
<%nooodl> i hear C++ has a thing called functors and they're completely different from Haskell functors...
<rorirover> the result is the most horrid thing in C++, it's basically black magic and it transforms any code you're writing into some eldritch monstrosity

Your just sore because you lost to a "Flonk of entry on organized crime" :(

Well Weasel doesn't plan to be judge again though, but I think we can all agree, Weasel is a pretty terrible judge >_>

No, I'm sore because I had a shot at 6th. Oh well, I'll just have to beat you this Summer.

A Dual-Stream Day Of Zeux.

Dual-Stream: Two topics, one specific, one not.

Day of Zeux: A contestant must create a mzx game based on one of the two topics in one day. The games are then judged, and the person with the best game wins.

dual-stream day of zeux. it's a 24-hour megazeux game-design competition. we all stay up all night and chat on irc while working on games and trying to make our brains work at 3 in the morning. it's really fun and you should try it =)

edit: oh snap guy beat me to it. ah, what the heck.

Yes but you're not chatting because it takes away from GAME MAKING TIME
