Message from the Management

When you finish a new game, demo, engine, or utility, the first thing to do is submit it to the archive for approval. Then feel free to post about it in this forum; in fact, please continue to do this. This is so people will actually know about your game and play it. As nice as it is to have archive uploads automated, it's not going to help much if no one knows you have a new game to play.

When uploading your games to the archive, please zip up your game using the .ZIP format, even if it is just a .MZX file. As for less popular formats (such as RAR and 7Z), games uploaded in these formats will be rejected. This is because as wonderful as those compression algorithms might be, ZIP is a near universal compression standard, and the only one that will work with the in-game archive browser planned for MZX.

You can also attach your game to a new thread in this forum. In this case, you can use whatever compression format you find suitable. NOTE: Games posted this way won't be put into the archive unless submitted to the archive proper, or unless the author states he/she wants the game in.

Lastly, we suggest you post a suitable screenshot of your submission (in PNG format) along with the game.

This is the tale of Knife Guy. Cast down for his destructive nature, he somehow escaped from eternal punishment and is ready to dominate the world.

But first he has to take out his competition, the Illuminati!

Very nice. I think there is something wrong with the knives though, the rate of fire velocity and number of knives seems to change suddenly without any powerups.
Makes the bosses really easy after happens, just stand next to them and press Z once and they instantly die to like a billion knives.
Or maybe I just don't understand the intended behavior of the player attack.

Guess what? Level 2-2 is unbeatable on hard mode! You don't get enough cycles to kill even one enemy before you're killed by a haze of bullets.

I know that some of you don't believe this, but there is a difference between something being so difficult to beat that you think you don't stand a chance, and being so difficult that you actually don't stand a chance. Try and fire off even one volley of knives in that level on hard mode, and you'll see what I mean.

I don't understand how the player attack is suppose to work at all. Plus whenever I die, the battle HUD covers the game over board.

Well, I'll remember this game. But it needs some patching up! Next time I'll think to check my email before you release.

But it was a classy game. It had good old music and lots of knives. CJA, tonight, you are the KNIFE BRO...
"Conservatism, though a necessary element in any stable society, is not a social program; in its paternalistic, nationalistic, and power-adoring tendencies it is often closer to socialism than true liberalism; and with its traditionalistic, anti-intellectual and often mystical propensities it will never, except in short periods of disillusionment, appeal to the young and all those others who believe that some changes are desirable if this world is to become a better place. A conservative movement, by its very nature, is bound to be a defender of established privileged and to lean on the power of government for the protection of privilege." -Friedrich Hayek

He released it like one hour after he sent it to us to playtest. I was asleep at 1 am. Anyway, I like this game but there's a little too much of a difficulty gap between the levels and the bosses. That first boss is a big jump from the first few levels. Still, it was pretty fun.

Levels are optional and simply make it easier to defeat the bosses.
