Message from the Management

When you finish a new game, demo, engine, or utility, the first thing to do is submit it to the archive for approval. (Log in first, then Upload a New Game from the sidebar.) Then feel free to post about it in this forum; in fact, please continue to do this. This is so people will actually know about your game and play it. As nice as it is to have archive uploads automated, it's not going to help much if no one knows you have a new game to play.

When uploading your games to the archive, please zip up your game using the .ZIP format, even if it is just a .MZX file. As for less popular formats (such as RAR and 7Z), games uploaded in these formats will be rejected. This is because as wonderful as those compression algorithms might be, ZIP is a near universal compression standard, and the only one that will work with the in-game archive browser planned for MZX.

You can also attach your game to a new thread in this forum. In this case, you can use whatever compression format you find suitable. NOTE: Games posted this way won't be put into the archive unless submitted to the archive proper, or unless the author states he/she wants the game in.

Lastly, we suggest you post a suitable screenshot of your submission (in PNG format) along with the game.

I've suddenly got an interest in side-scrollers, so I decided to make one. This was supposed to be a secret project, but secret projects are no fun.

Anyway, you play as a genetic experiment, a mix between a human and a robot (sweet) on a quest to beat all the levels. (The plot needs work  )

I want this game to be sort of a challenge, but I'm kind so I'm gonna give you some tips...
  • When you first enter the game, it's really easy to completely screw it up. Don't move until you bounce off of an enemy, then use the ship that flies and shoots fire at you to get onto the next solid terrain.
  • There are tricks that make the levels easier, so like, try to find them.
  • Preserve your health! You only have 900 of them!
  • Keep in mind that the only things that do major damage to you are fire and explosions. Don't be afraid to walk on the lava! :pirate:
  • Press F7 and I'll FWRITE your important Megazeux files :( [Not really, but still...]
  • Press F8 and I'll FWRITE your important Megazeux files :pikachu: [Not really, but still...]

I decided to use WinRar for something, so it won't be as big as Secret. (3.7 megs)

EDIT: Forgot the game. :(

EDIT 2: I can't upload .rar files? :pikachu: :pikachu: :( I just zipped the .rar file because I'm lazy. :|

Neat. I like this game.

One problem:
the part in level 2 where you have to jump on the shooting arrows to reach the top. A patient enough player could spend hours waiting for these things to line up well enough to be able to jump all the way to the top. It's beyond challenging, it's a total game killer. Fix that up and this should be a pretty good game.

Oh, and good call on the Spy Vs. Spy music on that level though. That song rules.

Hmmm....I did the title screen in SMZX mode 2, but made the world in a sub-directory. I couldn't see the title screen in the sub-directory, but could see it when I put the world in the main MZX directory. So, if you put this into a sub-folder, then that may be the reason.

Okay, I'll get right on it. But, to the left, you can see a space from where the robot blocked off the path. Use the white arrow to go through it, then go back to the hill. There you will find a white exclamation mark. Touch it and you finish the level.

Or you could push F7 :( .
