Message from the Management

When you finish a new game, demo, engine, or utility, the first thing to do is submit it to the archive for approval. (Log in first, then Upload a New Game from the sidebar.) Then feel free to post about it in this forum; in fact, please continue to do this. This is so people will actually know about your game and play it. As nice as it is to have archive uploads automated, it's not going to help much if no one knows you have a new game to play.

When uploading your games to the archive, please zip up your game using the .ZIP format, even if it is just a .MZX file. As for less popular formats (such as RAR and 7Z), games uploaded in these formats will be rejected. This is because as wonderful as those compression algorithms might be, ZIP is a near universal compression standard, and the only one that will work with the in-game archive browser planned for MZX.

You can also attach your game to a new thread in this forum. In this case, you can use whatever compression format you find suitable. NOTE: Games posted this way won't be put into the archive unless submitted to the archive proper, or unless the author states he/she wants the game in.

Lastly, we suggest you post a suitable screenshot of your submission (in PNG format) along with the game.

I have just finished the demo to my game, City Limits. It takes place in L.A., with you trying to stop the mastermind, Vladmar from drenching the city in explosive and bombing it. You must venture through the city, solving perplexing puzzles and mazes to aquire everything needed to disable the bomb.

This game is definitely something else. By the way you have yet to prove to me that a 3x3 viewport is ever a good decision.

I like the exploding houses.

And the practically impossible maze.

It's an interesting game, I just wish I knew what was going on :(

It seems that I have yet to fix the mazes and plot, but I won't have trouble doing that.

Actually I have a feeling if you fix the plot then this game will have nothing going for it. Also whatever you do keep the Enjoy the Silence mod

Also keep dnadream.mod :(

But seriously, beautiful work. Slider puzzles, awesome graphics, good dialogue. Your game has it all.

EDIT: Did I mention how much ass your graphics kick? This is one of the best looking mzx games I've ever seen.

Honestly, this is my first Megazeux game, but I've had practice from practice and ZZT. I might be done withing a 1-2 months. Maybe even shorter.

For a first game it's spectacular. I've been itching to see something just like this for a while. Vladamar's second form is a bit too hard, you mentioned you were going to fix the maze up... but other than that, perfection.

i notivce in one part you use normals, breakables, goop and solids to use the different dither patterns. I suggest you just use CustomBlock in those situations.

To anyone who thinks there are too many missiles fighting Vladamar: At the cost of 20 coins, hibombs, or health; by pushing '~' will make all the missiles dissapear.

<@Tixus> Anyway, I set the year to 1988 for some reason.
<@Tixus> And set the microwave to run for a minute and 28 seconds.
<@Tixus> But it failed to send me back in time, and I was disappointed.
<Insidious> Tixus accidentally microwaved the 80s
<Insidious> that is my takeaway from this

This game doesn't suck.

I wouldn't call it great though.
Need a dispenser here.
