The Liam Lynch topic got me thinking. What's your favorite music video; which do you consider the best?

I think it's pretty hard to top "Buddy Holly" by Weezer...

I don't watch many music videos, personally. I'd have to say that the videos for Soilwork's "Rejection Role" and In Flames's "Trigger" are pretty unique, though. Watch them both yourself and find out just why.

possibly making a game of some sort

The Freak on a Leash video was pretty good, yeah. Gotta love the really conceptual ones. Coincidentally, that's the only Korn song I can stand...

Other good ones:
"The Chemicals Between Us", "Personal Holloway" by Bush
"Today", "Tonight Tonight" by the Smashing Pumpkins
"She Blinded Me With Science", by Thomas Dolby

I think the only GOOD music video in history (sorry, most just bug me) is the "Invasion of the Gabber Robots"/Zero Wing/All Your Base video.

"There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences."
- P.J. O'Rourke

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."
- C.S. Lewis

This week, on LANCER PONDERS:
<lolilover> I notice alot of Japanese fiction involving kemono-mimi characters always has the main character saving an innocent animal and then the animal returns as a girl to reward him for his kindness.
<lolilover> Well there's a cat that is always wandering around in my backyard. Should I feed it in the hopes that one day a catgirl will show up at my door?

Drop by Pharcyde. The song is mediocre, but it's so awsome. The entire thing is filmed backwards... BUT YET FORWARDS AT THE SAME TIME.

People may hate me for this, but...

Linkin Park; [[I don't know the song name, but the video contains a war between armies of mecha's, the heads of each of the band members wired up to some kind of machine, and these weird winged creatures.]]

That's the Points of Authority remix by the lead guy from Orgy. T'was all right. And no, I don't hate you for that; I really think Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory was a solid album. If only they hadn't A) achieved such a lowest common denominator level of popularity, B) gotten big heads and released a remix album after only one major release, and C) followed it up with such a tepid, more-of-the-same-but-worse sophomore effort.

Note to Chester Bennington and Co. - You're not classic rock...

I like a lot of David Bowie's music videos, I can't really pick a favorite from his. I also like (I can't remember the guy's name, but it was in the 80's or early 90's I think) "Sledgehammer", and once again a guy I can't remember, I can't even remember the name of the song, but I think it was "Set on YOu", or I got my mind set on you or something. Ack. I'm sleepy. Hopefully this post will make more sense to you than it does to me.

Yeah. Peter Gabriel. the "Sledgehammer" video kicked, as did "Digging in the Dirt".

A few of my favorites, and reasons why (for once!)

* The Guitar (They Might Be Giants)
An already odd song, and an even weirder video...every time they get to the chorus, the band falls asleep for a few seconds. TMBG makes the weirdest videos....

* Warning (Green Day)
A song that makes fun of the warnings on product packages, and the video does the same. People rubbing shampoo in their eyes, operating heavy machinery after taking cough syrup...FUN FOR TEH WHOLE FAMILY!

* Money For Nothing/Beverly Hillbillies (Weird Al)
A complete and total parody of the original Money For Nothing video by Dire Straits, with a lot of the same animation. Also a scene in UHF.

* Money For Nothing (Dire Straits)
The first computer-animated feature I saw in my life! This sparked my interest in computer graphics. Was just plain neat (and I saw it on MTV, when they actually showed music videos).
Blaugh! -- Doom Armory
It didn't take a private eye to find Wily's robot masters - it took an idiot. A smart detective would have just looked for Wily first...in retrospect, I was nowhere near being that smart detective. I was just a guy with an arm cannon and a score to settle.

ok, i really hate sum 41, but the hell song music video was pretty damn cool. and seeing kelly osborne get shot made listining to the music all worthwhile.

yeah, korn's freak on a leash was a great video. the bullet trailing was wicked cool.

Man, what is up with these crappy bands making awsome videos? god must have a great sence of humour

do the evolution by pearl jam is another great one. i just like how it relates all of the sequinces together.

and that''s about all i can think of at the momment, might post more if i think of one thats worthwhile.
