> Summer 2009 DsDoZ is OVER
Posted by Wervyn - 06-28-09 17:15 - 15 comments
So the competition has now officially ended. Before having looked at any of the submissions, it appears we received 12, including a last minute gasp by Old-Sckool under the wire. And honestly for the reaction I was getting leading up to the DoZ, that's not too shabby. We'll see how the games fall out as we play them.

As promised, judging will commence today and will be finished within the week, whether we have five complete sets of scores or not. So hopefully you won't be kept in suspense too long wondering if Lancer or Logicow won, or if a dark horse team like Quasar and Tixus will take it.

The games can be downloaded via BitTorrent here. A direct download will be mirrored on the site as soon as I can manage it, but for the first bit or so I really recommend you hit the torrent, it should be well seeded and will be more efficient for everyone.

Thanks for a great DoZ everyone, hope you all had fun.

It's as the title says, but I'll say it again in big, bold print:

The Summer 2009 Dualstream Day of Zeux has now begun!
Your topics are Paranoia (Abstract) and News Reporters (Concrete)

Good luck to everyone competing, I'll see you in 24 hours.

ajs should have an FTP up and running closer to submission time. You can also email your submissions to wervyn@gmail.com, or if you really need to you can submit them to the DMZX games archive, and I'll get them from there and sort out the details.

REMEMBER: Your games should be packed up into a zip labeled <your team number>.zip, preferably with a top level directory. The judges will extract your game into its own directory and attempt to play <your team number>.mzx, or the most likely MZX file included.
ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT: Include a readme.txt with your game containing BOTH the topic you have selected (Paranoia or News Reporters), AND the scoresheet you want used (Theme-heavy or Theme-lite). Otherwise the judges will have to guess for you, which could impact your score. The readme can and should contain any other information about your game you feel is important for the judges to know (e.g. special controls, supplemental story work, known issues).

"Savor it while it lasts."

> Review System Complete

After months of patiently waiting, the review system is finally done. Click the green circle in the upper left-hand corner of the Reviews box on the showcase page to add and rate games. Let me know if there are issues, as usual.
